The Luswishi Agricultural Block Development is an initiative of the Zambian government to market agricultural land for economic diversification and growth, enhance food security and open up undeveloped rural areas while reducing poverty and rural exodus. The government has drawn up the Agricultural Block Development Plan, covering eleven blocks with a total gross area of 895,000 ha. An agricultural block is a large agricultural area where basic infrastructure such as feeder roads, electricity, water for irrigation and domestic use and communication facilities are put in place by the government to stimulate lasting partnerships with private investors for the realization of agricultural activities, agro-food and economic.
