Hydrogeologist

Richflood is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Hydrogeologist to join our growing team in Abuja Nigeria. Working under the direction of project managers and partners, the successful candidate will work on interesting site investigation projects both onsite and on various fields across Nigeria. You may also have the opportunity to work on international site investigation and remediation projects. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan and oversee field data collection, including sampling, drilling, well installation, aquifer hydraulic conductivity testing, remedial pilot tests, and remedial system operation and maintenance.

  • Compile and evaluate site investigation and remedial system monitoring data.

  • Synthesize site characterization and remediation information to develop and refine conceptual site models.

  • Utilize conceptual site models to communicate findings, identify data gaps, and focus additional data collection efforts.

  • Work closely with geographic information system experts to develop visually compelling and informative graphics.

  • Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.

  • Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, and clients during field activities.

Requirements:

 

  • BSc in hydrogeology, geology, environmental engineering or any other related degree. 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.

  • Strong written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience writing detailed technical reports. 

  • Willingness/interest in travel for field assignments.

  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.

  • Ability to work independently and also to work as a team.

  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Detailed Information on Qualification Experience and Job Description

 

Job Location: Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria 

Minimum Requirements:

1.        Academic: BSc. in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental engineering or any relevant and related course to the below roles with not less than 5 years experience;

2.       Skills and duties; Hydrogeologist should possess knowledge in Planning and overseeing field data collection, including sampling, drilling, well installation, aquifer hydraulic connectivity, Synthesize site characterization and remediation information. Review investigation and remediation data developed by other consultancies and work closely with geographic information system experts to develop visually compelling and informative graphics etc.

3.       Work hours schedule; 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
