IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL EIA ACT IN NIGERIA
The regulatory framework for EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) implementation in Nigeria is the EIA Act No. 86 of 1992. The law confers the mandate to implement it on the Federal ministry of Environment in accordance with this law, it make it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out EIA on their proposed projects.
